Apparently I've retired from retirement. What does that mean? I've taken on the world, AGAIN, and my life is too busy. I'm doing all great things, but if yesterday's fully employed Lyn had seen into my "retired" life today, she would say, "Lyn, what the hell are you doing?"
Do I love being a Student Teacher Supervisor and visiting schools and classrooms and having such a direct and positive impact on teachers of the future? YES!
Do I love teaching a graduate level course on Teacher Leadership and helping young teachers grow in their practice toward leading districts in directions that build culture and grow student achievement? YES!
Do I love my new friends at my Yoga Teacher Training and do I love learning the history and practice of Yoga, of feeling more and being more, and loving more? YES!
All of this is ME! All of this is AMAZING! All of this, together all at one time is TOO MUCH!
Thank goodness I also do Yoga practice every morning so I remember to just... BREATHE!!!! This, and time with the GBs, has saved me!
But, I haven't written in weeks. I haven't painted in months! I'm feeling overwhelmed with the texts and memorization required from my yoga teacher training course; and the scoring and evaluation of papers and projects from my college students; and the scheduling and driving and visits to do formal observations in schools.
Obviously, it may be time for 2nd retirement and really take more time for ME!
So, let's finish what we started! Let's finish strong and positive! And let's learn and grow from where we are into where and who we want to be. What will I keep? What will I put aside? I'm not sure, and I don't have to decide today. But I have decided that, whatever I do, it will breathe LIFE into me, not stress!
